Joanna has been a registered nurse since 2002, and has a wide range of nursing experience in both medical and psychiatric care. In 2014 Joanna earned her Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is trained to provide psychiatric diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, medication management, and follow up for children, adolescents and adults. Her advanced practice experience includes being a psychiatric care provider in both the inpatient and outpatient care settings.
Joanna includes a holistic approach to her treatment plan. In addition to medication management, she educates clients on how to integrate healthy lifestyle choices and relaxation into daily life to help create more balance. She also works with clients to help them challenge negative thoughts, increase communication skills and enhance self efficacy.
Joanna treats all psychiatric conditions including mood disorders and depression, anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, behavioral disorders, thought related disorders and schizophrenia.
